Evans SPH 3U1

Physics Grade 11

Unit 1: Kinematics

Note 2:  Average & Instantaneous Velocity and Position Time Graphs

Reference: Chapters 1.2, 1.3

Graphing motion is advantageous because quick inspection of a graph gives information about the object's motion. Also by calculating slope and area under graphs, some specific details can be obtained. REMEMBER USE YOUR UNITS!

Know the conversion box diagram for graphing.

Example of Position - Time Graph and convert to a Velocity - Time Graph for Uniform Motion
