GRADE 12
MPM1D: Grade 9 Academic Mathematics
This course enables students to develop generalizations of mathematical ideas and methods through the exploration of applications, the effective use of technology, and abstract reasoning. Students will investigate relationships to develop equations of straight lines in analytic geometry, explore relationships between volume and surface area of objects in measurement, and apply extended numeric and algebraic skills in problem solving. Students will engage in abstract extensions of core learning that will deepen their mathematical knowledge and enrich their understanding.
This grade nine mathematics course is designed to develop students' proficiency as learners and thinkers in mathematics, and their ability to apply mathematics in their daily lives. Students will interpret, analyze, and create mathematical models to solve realistic problems, within and beyond the mathematics classroom.

MFM1P: Grade 9 Applied Mathematics
This course enables students to develop mathematical ideas and methods through the exploration of applications, the effective use of technology, and extended experiences with hands-on activities. Students will investigate relationships of straight lines in analytic geometry, solve problems involving the measurement of three-dimensional objects and two-dimensional, and apply key numeric and algebraic skills in problem solving. Students will also have opportunities to consolidate core skills and deepen their understanding of key mathematical concepts." This grade nine mathematics course is designed to develop students' proficiency as learners and thinkers in mathematics, and their ability to apply mathematics in their daily lives. Students will interpret, analyze, and create mathematical models to solve realistic problems, within and beyond the mathematics classroom.

MAT1L: Grade 9 Essentials Mathematics
This course provides students who have experienced significant difficulties in previous Mathematics courses an opportunity to obtain sufficient background and skill development to prepare them for Grade 11 and 12 Workplace Preparation courses. Whenever possible, ideas will be presented in a real-life context, providing students with the opportunity to explore, organize, interpret, and use mathematical models to solve problems. Technology and manipulative materials will be used wherever appropriate. Assessment and evaluation will be done using a wide variety of strategies.
